Hooray! Photo Pendants are Posted!

After much trial and error, I finally have got my photo pendants listed on Etsy.  Not all of them are up just yet, but hopefully these first ones get some attention!  Want to know how to make them?  Well, it's pretty simple and you don't need too many supplies!  Just hop on over to www.Etsy.com and buy yourself some glass tiles, Diamond Glaze, bails, E6000 and print out a few pictures.  Then apply the diamond glaze to the glass square and attach your photo.  Then apply a layer of Diamond Glaze on the back and when that is dry, glue the bail on the back using your E6000 glue.  Yup, not too complicated!  You just have to make sure there are no air bubbles!

Living Dangerously...

...it's not something that I really would think I've done.  I wasn't one of those rebel teenagers (though I did succeed in the bad attitude department), and as a wee child entertained myself with my rock collection and pet rabbits.  But I was thinking, surely I've done some things that were daring?

Well, after some thought, I came up with a list of the top ten most dangerous things I've done thus far.
(They are listed in no particular order).
1. Biked through China
2. Swam in an area clearly marked with a "No Swimming" sign
3. Stole a bath bead from the Body Shop when I was six
4. Canoed beside an anaconda in Peru
5. Doubled on a bike (and without a helmet!)
6. Got a tattoo
7. Gone out to take pictures in thunder storms
8. White water rafted class 3 rapids in Costa Rica
9. Broke into a racetrack and took photos
10. Rode in a car without wearing my seat belt

Well I find that list somewhat impressive...though truthfully I really had to sit and think to come up with a full list haha.  And I wouldn't be surprised if my list was out-done by others.

Why don't you share your list?

A Very Mao Christmas

This year on Christmas eve, my boyfriend, Clint, and I were visited not by Santa but by one of our pet bunnies, Mao.  Before I go into the details of our very special visit, first let me introduce you to Mao.  She was indeed named after Chairman Mao, but has proven herself to be rather unworthy of his name.  She is no Commie; instead she boasts that she only supports the "Turds Are Food Too!" political party.  Her day is not spent participating in revolutionary activities, but rather her interests include sleeping, eating, and receiving pets from mommy and daddy.  She is a well mannered rabbit who knows that pooping and peeing are only to occur in her cage/litter box while out roaming the apartment.  She has as much personality as any cat or dog, so her parents decided that like cat and dog owners, they wanted to give Mao the opportunity to sleep in their bedroom.

And so, on Christmas Eve of 2008, Mao's cage was moved into our bedroom and opened to allow in and out access for our snuggle bunny.  Normally when allowed to run free, Mao chooses to sleep underneath the couch for hours on end, so we figured that she would have no problem settling down somewhere; maybe even in bed with mommy and daddy! However, (though not unfortunately), this did not occur.

The lights went out and Mao went nuts!  Sitting still seemed to be an incomprehensible task, as she continually jumped on and off of the bed.  She especially enjoyed launching herself from the ground, only to land on top of her parent's faces!  Which reminds me, we need to cut her claws...Anyways, I will never forget the sound of her hopping around the bed, and as she got closer to you, the more fearful you would become as you knew at any moment a rabbit would be sitting on your face.  And not only sitting, but hopping!  Oh the hopping! Now Mao aint your tiny dwarf rabbit, oh no!  She is a fat, baby making machine and has got a good amount of weight to her name (I suppose just like the real Mao). She left no territory uncharted and proved herself to be quite the explorer.

And when she wasn't hopping, she was licking.  Mao is a sucky baby and loves attention, and when you stop petting her, she'll start licking your hand.  Well, she tried this same maneuver, only instead of licking our hands, she went for our necks, cheeks, eyelids, and wherever else she could get her little tongue!  I'll never forget the giggles coming from my boyfriend which meant that Mao was on the tongue attack.

Then, you would finally fall asleep when, AHHH!, attack of the bunny would be in full force once again.  So, although she brought many laughs, we were in favour of sleep and Mao was locked back in her cage after only two hours of freedom with mom and dad.  On Christmas morning we discovered that our lovely little litter-trained rabbit even left presents for us in the form of turds and pee on (and in) the blankets.

We won't be doing that again any time soon, but if you have a rabbit, I suggest you give it a try!
